The Councils can offer advice on a number of subjects relating to the care of children including adoption and fostering, advice and support for children in care and information on how to get respite care if you are a carer. Support and advice is also available for those families going through difficult periods of their lives whether this is emotional or domestic. If you are a new parent, you can find advice on how to register a birth, get advice on vaccines and read about schools and approved childcare providers in the area. The councils' can also give information about the qualifications needed if you are considering a career in childcare. Information is also available on school meals and uniform grants, home schooling, bullying, special needs statements and much more.
For teenage children, the councils' can offer intergrated advice, guidance and access to personal development opportunities, advice on housing for those unable to continue living with their parents as well as advice on family planning. |
