Blackpool is going to celebrate with the biggest celebration of veterans’ achievements ever seen in the UK. Make sure you join us for the packed programme of events, and help us to Honour and Unite All Who Served.

10.00am Veterans Exhibition Opens – Promenade near North Pier
10.00am We Were There Exhibition Opens – Winter Gardens
11.20am Veterans Badge Challenge – Blackpool Tower Abseil
11.40am 12 Regiment Royal artillery exercise their right to the Freedom of the Borough Blackpool, marching along the Promenade past the Tower before taking up their place at the Cenotaph.
11.50am Battle of Britain Memorial Flight,  Spitfire flypast – Cenotaph
11.30am National Veterans Day Service led by the Bishop of Blackburn
12.45pm School Children’s Tribute to the Veterans
1.00pm  “Veterans in Poetry” poet in residence John Siddique collects memories from Veterans at Central Library. Free refreshments served
2.00pm Veterans Badge Presentations – Blackpool Tower Ballroom (Invite only)
5.00pm National Veterans Day Parade - From Cenotaph
7.30pm BBC Radio 2, Friday Night is Music Night , National Veterans Day Special – Opera House Winter Gardens
7.30pm Big Band Dance – Blackpool Tower Ballroom
10.00pm Red Devils Parachute Display Team , Illuminated Night Drop. View from Central Promenade near North Pier
10.15pm National Veterans Day Firework Finale, View from Central Promenade
