All eyes will be on Blackpool as it hosts National Veterans' Day 2008 this summer.

The resort will welcome former soldiers, sailors and airmen for a week-long series of events to celebrate their service they have given to their country.

Blackpool beat off competition from around the country to be given the honour of holding the national event and organisers promise the biggest and best veterans' week yet.
