Most Improved Schools 2008

The league tables relate to the performance of children aged 11 to 14 in three key subjects, maths, English and science. In each subject the school is rated by the percentage of the pupils reaching the government attainment target of Level 5. In each subject the score is out of 100. Those are then added up to give a total score out of 300 for each school. Value added tables were introduced to show how pupils performance improved from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3. The score is based around a figure of 100, the rate at which the government expects pupils to improve in the classroom over three years. Any score above 100 suggests pupils are progressing at a faster rate than expected. A score below 100 suggests children are falling behind.
