KIRKHAM Grammar School’s first XV scored an impressive 15-0 win over the previously unbeaten Woodhouse Grove.
After a scoreless first half, Tommy Banks sliced through for a fine individual try, converted by full-back Joe Brown who added a penalty.
KGS increased their lead in the last minute when James Hesketh was driven over after good play by Tom Bowden.
KGS seconds were 17-3 winners after David Ellis scored the opening try, converted by Ashley Parkinson.
James Moncrief scored the second try out wide and Grove made it 12-3 at half-time with a penalty.
Tight
KGS defended well in the second half before Davies completed the scoring from a blindside move.
The under-16s gave their best performance of the season to win 37-0, with tries by Toby Townsend, Matthew Edgar (2), Benedict Fulford-Brown, Ethan Harvey and Jamie Roper. Richard Beswick and Roper kicked the goals.
The under-15 A team lost 26-24, an equally tight first half having ended 14-12 to Grove.
Lyman Choi and Jake Hodgkinson scored the KGS tries.
The dominant B team won 68-0, with Johnny Taylor, Josh Keay and Henry Hesketh scoring hat-tricks.
Oliver Rowlands also touched down and Jake Wilson kicked nine goals.
Reverse
The under-14 A team trailed 17-0 at half-time but an excellent try by Precious Nwaokomah and two Will Roper goals made the final score 17-10.
The under-14 B team won 24-10 as Sam Hall scored twice, with Liam Williams and Patrick Callery also scoring. Hall and Nathan Loftus added goals.
The under-13 teams both lost. Ben Swift and Ben Rhodes-Powers scored in the A team’s 22-14 reverse, while the B team lost 24-17 despite and Andrew Collins hat-trick.
The under-12 A and B teams lost 38-0 and 32-0.
