Nicole gets Scots call-up
Kirkham schoolgirl Nicole Pike has made her international breakthrough by winning her first caps for Scotland under-16s
Nicole made her debut in a 5-2 win over North of England Girls before flying out for a three-match series against Belgium under-16s.
The young Scots learned the lessons from two defeats to win the final game on penalty flicks after a 1-1 draw.
The under-16 Home Nations tournament made its welcome return in Cardiff last week, when the Scots beat Wales before losing to eventual winners England and to Ireland
Nicole then helped her country to a 3-1 victory over Wales in the third place play-off.
"This was a fantastic experience for me" said Kirkham Grammar pupil Nicole, who was born in Perth.
