Daniel Jones capitalised on fine work by Jon Houston to score his first of the season and make it 2-0 at half-time.

THE Youth League's Under-16 representative side lost 4-3 to their Bury and Radcliffe League counterparts at Lytham’s Ballam Road.
MATTHEW Hanson was a St Annes hero at both ends of the field as his club continued to ride high in the Under-13 Pizza division with victory over Fleetwood Town.
But if a 3-1 win sounds fairly comfortable, this one was anything but.
Indeed, both managers agreed that Fleetwood did not deserve to return home without any points after matching their opponents throughout and dominating for a spell after half-time.
But St Annes gave them a lesson in taking chances, with three well executed goals.
Town made the brighter start, despite playing against the wind, and applied the early pressure but it was the home side who opened the scoring after 15 minutes at Blackpool Road North.
And it was centre-half Hanson who broke the deadlock, bursting through to lob the keeper from the edge of the box.
The home side doubled their lead 10 minutes later, when Harrison Ball picked up a through ball, beat a defender and smashed home from outside the box.
Town had lost key players to illness but were not seeking excuses. Despite having plenty of possession in dangerous areas, Fleetwood struggled to create clear-cut chances and the St Annes keeper was not as seriously troubled as he might have been.
But when they did find their shooting boots just before half-time, Town did so with some style.
It was Jacob Walsh who got them off the mark with a thunderous shot into the top corner.
It capped an outstanding performance by the central midfielder, who was tightly marked for the rest of the game.
The goal was just the tonic Fleetwood needed as they embarked on an all-out assault on the St Annes goal early in the second half.
For 20 minutes the home side struggled to escape from their own half, but they defended with great resilience to present their opponents with few sights of goal.
St Annes took the wind out of Town’s sails by weathering the storm and they eventually managed to go back on the offensive, clinching victory with their third goal three minutes from time.
Again the outstanding Hanson played a big part, picking out Gavin Annetts with a 50-yard pass.
Annetts beat two before playing the ball into the path of Joshua Lacey, who powered the ball home to secure the points.
Manager Steve Little singled out his central defensive duo of Cameron Guffogg and man of the match Hanson for special praise.
Fleetwood were impressive at the back too, with captain Jake Ashurst setting a fine example.
He and Walsh have developed into Town’s most influential duo and their performances bode well for the rest of the season.
And manager Ashurst isn’t too worried by recent results.
“We made a bright start and won our first two,” he said. “We’ve had injuries and have not had the rub of the green in the last three matches but we are not far away.”
His St Annes counterpart Little is understandably delighted by his side’s unbeaten start in the revamped Pizza division.
“We thought we’d do all right in this league,” he said. “The new format has helped us to find our level.
“The new players we have signed have fitted in well, and those we retained trained hard over the summer to help make sure we got a good start.”
