YMCA (Under-10) 1 Pendle Forest 2
YMCA rose to the challenge against the league leaders and took the lead after five minutes when the outstanding Olivia Hooper beat a defender and scored from Laurel North’s fine pass.
Buoyed by their first ever goal against Pendle, YM pressed for a second and Amy Sudworth went close.
Pendle levelled after half-time and netted a winner despite outstanding goalkeeping by Ellie Miller.
YMCA (Under-13) 3 Bromley Cross 1
YMCA won this top of the table clash, taking the lead on 13 minutes with an own goal.
Siobhan Fryer’s excellent free-kick made it 2-0 at half-time but Bromley struck back 12 minutes after the restart before Stephanie Vickers sealed the game with a smart finish.
Fleetwood (Under-13) 2 Rossendale Mavericks 2
FLEETWOOD stayed in contention for the title but were held by much-improved Rossendale.
Megan Brown scored the only first-half goal after good work by players’ player of the match Em McCarthy and Cath Robinson.
Brown held the ball up well for Lauren Fail to double the lead but Rossendale pulled one back with 25 minutes left and deserved their equaliser. Cory Stewart won the manager’s star player award.
YMCA (Under-17) 11 Readstone 1
PLAYER of the match Millie Brown scored a hat-trick in the first 20 minutes as YM returned to the top of the North Valley Youth League in style.
She met captain Mandy Pendlebury’s free-kick to round the keeper and open the scoring in the fourth minute.
Amy Crossland chipped the second 10 minutes later and Charlie Carr soon played Brown in for her second before Crossland provided the centre for Brown to complete her treble.
Crossland hammered a 25-yard free-kick into the roof of the net to make it 5-0 on 27 minutes. Emma Brady scored next after a one-two with Danielle Takeuchi before Carr found the net from Siobhan Roach’s pass and Pendlebury made it 8-0 at half-time from Crossland’s corner.
Carr netted her second from Takeuchi’s long throw before two goals in as many minutes completed the YM scoring. Ashley Wall hit a long-range screamer after a mazy run by Ellie Cash and Brady scored her second before Readstone’s consolation.
