Rochdale Girls 0, Blackpool FC Under-16 5
LEAGUE leaders Blackpool gained revenge on a Rochdale side who had knocked them out of the League Cup.
Walker gave them a second-minute lead in an end-to-end match.
Defenders Thornhill, Baddeley, Smith and Robinson were all strong and keeper McDonald pulled off a top-class save.
Blackpool were 2-0 up at half-time after some classy play from Fenton and Hinchliffe.
A second by striker Walker shortly after the restart put Blackpool in control.
The midfield was dominated by joint players of the match Parker and Warren, who scored the fourth with a superb long-range shot. The pace of Illingworth and Fenton caused Rochdale constant problems, and Ayala completed the scoreline.
YMCA Under-17 8 Rossendale Mavericks 0
YM returned to winning ways against the bottom club. Siobhan Roach flicked the ball through for Millie Brown to open the scoring after six minutes.
Despite some great corners by Brown, YMCA squandered chances before Roach put Ashleigh Wall through to make it 2-0 at half-time.
YM then dominated as Roach hammered home from Mandy Pendlebury’s ball over the top.
They scored five in the final 15 minutes, starting with a great run and shot by Roach.
Within two minutes Brown had her second and Roach’s soon followed from Melissa Donovan’s throw.
Wall headed on a Roach cross for substitute Danielle Takeuchi to outjump the defence for the next goal.
Brown’s third was perhaps the goal of the game, the result of Roach’s pass after a great tackle by Ellie Cash.
Wall completed the scoring after player of the match Roach’s shot was cleared. Charlie Carr and captain Mandy Pendlebury also impressed.
YMCA Under-10 3 Great Harwood Rovers 0
YMCA were on fire again and soon put the visitors under pressure.
They dominated the first half and had several near misses before Georgia Rose scored on 14 minutes.
They remaianed on top in the second half and Amy Sudworth scored with a deflected shot before Beth Everson netted a great solo goal, carrying the ball from halfway.
